The TeleVoIPs Systems Developer supports and administers all telecommunications software and hardware. Will require knowledge in developing platforms using, Asterisk, Kamailio, Sangoma Products, OpenSIPs, Session Border Controllers & other VoIP packages associated. You will engage in trouble-shooting telecommunications issues on both VoIP communications systems as well as traditional Network Firewalls, switches, and ISPs. Ability to critically evaluate and interpret technology issues; uses computer and telephony knowledge to asses and/or resolve end-user, desktop, server platforms, and voice network issues; serves as liaison to vendors and internal staff to provide support and expertise on all aspects of business communication system. Must also have strong skills in reading and understanding SIP protocols, proxies and Asterisk based telephony platforms.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but may not be limited to the following):

  • Expert in understanding SIP.
  • Design, develop, and deploy custom modules and configure standard modules for SIP Proxies.
  • Design, develop, and deploy custom modules and configure standard modules for Session Border Controller (SBC).
  • Design, develop and deploy new programs and scripts to support and enhance TeleVoIPs custom telephony platforms and 3rd party dialers.
  • Enhance and maintain existing code and participate in design reviews and code reviews with other team members.
  • Troubleshoot carrier SIP trunks, Data Links and site connectivity.
  • Ability to interpret Wireshark logs and utilize monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, Libre NMS and Homer.
  • Work with the Production Services Segment leaders towards keeping Service Availability above target.
  • Other duties as assigned by management


  • Ability to work regular, full-time schedule, Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm with flexibility to work additional hours depending on business demands and on call after hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, including senior management and executives.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience in the use and application of the most current technologies and products used in the Telecommunications industry.
  • Active Directory.

  • Circuit Architecture.
  • Experience troubleshooting cooper, optical and wireless backbone.
  • Previous experience inspecting network traffic from a voice perspective a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SAN environments, a plus.
  • Experience with formal change management.
  • Knowledge of Wireshark or similar products required.
  • Experience using software applications (like Visio) to build network and telecom diagrams helpful.
  • Flexibility with shift hours is needed.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and escalate quickly is a must.
  • A “Can-do” attitude is required


  • SIP protocol and its use in VOIP Services.
  • SIP Proxies and/or SIP PBXs preferably open source products like Kamailio (OpenSER), Asterisk, and FreePBX etc.
  • Networking with Switches, Routers, Firewalls, IPSs and Security Appliances.
  • Programming experience with PHP / Perl / JAVA / C and custom modules with open source products.
  • Relational Databases ( MySQL / SQL Server / NO SQL / MY SQL Oracle), JDBC / ODBC.
  • Linux server operations, deployment and performance monitoring and shell scripting.
