Communicating with Your Clients this Valentine's Day

So many of life’s pleasures rely on making and keeping connections—it’s at the heart of most of what we do today, tomorrow and especially on Valentine's Day.

It is so easy to become entangled in the day-to-day grind of business and life that we often forget to stay connected to our family, friends, business associates, clients, and those we love most.

Social media, text messages, email, and the surplus of connection platforms make it far easier to reach out to loved ones but they don’t necessarily make it easy to truly communicate with them, or to express just how much we appreciate them.  Perhaps a seemingly seldom-used method of communication is the most personal and thoughtful of all…

The telephone!

Developing close connections over the phone doesn’t just make a difference when it comes to loved ones but also when it comes to your clients and your business. How?

1.  Do you reach out to your clients during the year for feedback on how the relationship is going?

2.  Do you show your appreciation to your clients on a regular basis?

3.  Would your client tell others how your business consistently shows a personal touch towards them?

4.  Does your business operate using the Platinum Rule rather than the Golden Rule?

If you answered any of the above with anything other than a resounding YES, you’re in luck.  Valentine's Day is the great equalizer.  You get a chance to BE your clients VALENTINE!

If you’re wondering what either the Platinum or Golden Rule of business is, then this is your educational moment.  The Golden Rule is:  Treat others like you would want to be treated.  The Platinum Rule is:  Treat others like THEY would want to be treated.  See the difference?  If you do this in life and business then you are already winning... especially on Valentine’s Day!

That said, how do you use the Platinum Rule when it comes to the telephone?

Well, a phone call is often the simplest way to connect with your client for a genuine conversation.  Valentine’s Day only makes the call extra special. And rather than reaching out with a cheesy sales pitch, a phone call is your chance to show your current clients just how thankful you are for their continued loyalty.  It’s an opportunity to also ask them how their business and for you to ascertain if there’s more you can to do be of service to them.  If you’re feeling brave, drop a Happy V-Day before tying up the conversation. A bit of TLC goes a long way.

One of our goals at TeleVoIPs is to give you more than just one way to reach out and really talk with your clients. That’s why we work to offer you flexibility to take your business phone on the go for phones calls or text messages using the TeleVoIPs Softphone. We also offer HD Video conferencing solutions so you can connect face-to-face from anywhere in the world.

There are so many ways to connect with your clients on Valentine’s Day (or any other day of the year) to show them how much they mean to you. While catching up in person may always be the ideal, TeleVoIPs is here for you whenever that’s not an option—with business phone, texting, and video conferencing services. In our opinion, the method you choose for client communication is up to you—an email or business text will certainly be better than doing nothing...because doing nothing often ends in someone’s broken heart 💔.
